Formed in London in 1971 by Jamaican and Guyana ex-pats, Cymande is a rasta-infused funk band with a heavy rhythm section, afro-tinged horn parts, spaced-out psychedelic hooks, and straight-up groovin' goodness. Their 1972 eponymous studio debut is an incredibly diverse yet cohesive fusion of jazz, funk, folk, and spiritual soul. A must-listen for any music fanatic.
